**About the role**
Due to internal promotion we are looking for a ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified Chief Accountant who has experience of managing a team to join our large and busy finance team here in Colchester.
**Job purpose**
- Manage team to deliver monthly management accounts for the company and reporting the result
- Production of year end adjustments and statutory accounts for the group and associated entities along with subsequent filing of the accounts
- Responsible for the completion of year end audit and liaising with tax advisors to assist with their queries in order to submit the corporation tax returns
- Financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders
- Be responsible for other ad-hoc reporting and projects for Finance Management
- Oversee production and review of monthly accounts for 69 homes and central head office, including presenting the results to Financial Controller, Finance Director and Managing Director along with analysis and answering queries
**Responsibilities**
- Work with the Finance Management team to review monthly result and assess the impact on budgets and future forecasts
- Line management of two accountants and liaising with finance sub-functions throughout the month to ensure accurate accounting of transactions
- Prepare statutory accounts for c. 25 subsidiaries and further associated entities relating to the operation of the group’s trade
- Responsibility for the year end group consolidation process and production of the consolidated group statutory accounts
- Liaise with auditors to facilitate the statutory audit and accounts
- Assist external tax advisors with preparation of tax schedules and ad-hoc tax planning
- Prepare financial reports for external stakeholders including landlords, Care Quality Commission and the bank
- Other ad-hoc support to Finance Management as required
