Hours are 7.30am - 4:30 pm Monday to Thursday and 7:30am to 3:30pm

Pay Rate IRO £12.50 p/hr

Skillection are working with their manufacturing client based in Middleton Manchester.

Production Supervisors are integral to the smooth supply and running of any operation. Reporting directly to and working alongside the dept production manager, you are responsible for assisting in following tasks

Core operating hours are 7.30am - 4:30 pm Monday to Thursday and 7:30am to 3:30pm on Friday. You may be required to work outside these hours to satisfy customers and suppliers demands.

Role and Responsibilities
- Ensuing prompt and smooth flow of materials from production to pod department
- Supporting production supervisor to ensure pod staff are completing tasks to production schedule order
- Daily management and support for the team to achieve operational success.
- Liaising and co-ordinating production with other departments.
- Planning and execution of production process throughout the department.
- Consistently promote high standards through personal example and roll out through the team so that each member of the team understands the standards and behaviours expected of them.
- Monitor quality standards and provide administrative support, ensuring all records required are completed appropriately including update of production schedules.
- Ensure any non-conforming material is identified / segregated and communicate with supplier/procurement to rectify
- Ensure production output against schedule targets / delivery dates is achieved
- Undertake continuous training and development.
- Maintain visible lead for adherence to procedures and instructions.
- Identify quality and business improvement opportunities within the department.
- Proactively put measures in place to avoid issues
- React to issues in a timely and effective manner
- Assist/manage on-site installations/rectifications
- To undertake any training required in order to perform your job to a better standard.
- Partner with all functions, especially manufacturing to organise and support critical aspects to meet customer delivery.
- Maintain and manage individual project schedules through, assistance in co-ordinating manufacturing, shipping and installation
- To ensure all export jobs are double checked before despatch. To be fully informed and up to speed on all installations, off site work and rectification jobs.
- Discuss any design or manufacturing issues with design team and customer
- To liaise with the Fabrication department to ensure materials flow is sufficient for production requirements.
- To highlight problems and mistakes on jobs so they can be logged and prevented in the future.
- To co-ordinate all aspects of PODs come together within the timescales required.
- On occasion to attend offsite installation/rectification work as required.

Skills required (not all essential):

- Essential
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a supervisory role
- Understanding of fabrication methods and material processing
- FLT Licence
- UK driving License (maximum 3 points)
- Used to working in a fast-paced environment with ability to multitask
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Minimum 2 years supervision experience in manufacturing environment
- Computer literate (MS Excel, Outlook)

Advantageous but not essential
- A good level of client relationship skills for on-site visits
- CSCS card
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
