About The Role
**Location**:Wirral, Merseyside
**Days & Hours**:Monday to Thursday 6am-9am and 3.45pm-10pm every week, Friday 11.30am till 8.30pm every week, and Saturday or Sunday 10am-4pm every other week. This is a total of 42 hours one week and 48 hours the next, (due to Harry being in respite every other weekend) These hours can be shared between 2 people.
**Pay**:£15.00 per hour, Monday - Friday, £16.00 per hour weekends and Bank Holidays
**Driver required? **Essential
**Using Own Vehicle for work purposes? **Yes, on duty and to attend training. Business insurance is required and a mileage will be paid
**Essential**:Confident with behaviour management and de-escalation techniques.
**Desirable**:Supporting children with complex emotional, behavioural and attachment needs as a support worker or teaching assistant and** e**xperience of implementing therapy programmes.
**Family Pets**:2 dogs
**Accommodation (while on duty)**:Summerhouse with small bedroom area. Additional use of the family home - kitchen diner, living room and bathroom, also used by the family.
Harry, a bright young man, who was born in 2008 and is talkative and lively. He lives at home with his mother and two younger siblings, therefore, the role will involve working within a family setting. Harry attends a school for young people with additional needs five days a week. He enjoys DJ’ing, football, basketball and outdoor activities.
This job will suit someone who is calm but very proactive and able to bring lots of enthusiasm to the role. The aim of the role is to support our client’s mother to care for Harry (help with after school routines), to support therapy programmes provided by professionals involved in his care and to enable Harry to access learning and social events. It would be advantageous for you to have knowledge and experience of signing as a form of communication (ie. Makaton, Signalong or BSL)

**Essential**
- Male due to personal care may be required
- A Handling Management Plan designed to reduce the risk of handling injuries may require you to bend, kneel, squat or lunge to ensure good posture during handling tasks.
- Experience/understanding of mental health issues.
- Confident about working in client’s own home and sensitive to the needs and wishes of the parents.
- Happy to learn new things - hoisting, feeding, personal care routine etc. Training will be given.
- Aptitude and desire to work with children with complex needs.

- Excellent literacy and numeracy skills
