Are you a dynamic and motivated Buyer looking for your next step in electronic or mechanical engineering procurement?

For more than sixty-five years our client has been a world leader in the engineering, design, and manufacture of quality electro-mechanical equipment into the engineering and manufacturing market sectors. This well-established business has over 400 employees worldwide and is a truly global entity.

They are looking to recruit a Senior Buyer to join their procurement team, someone who is keen to work full cycle ‘cradle to grave’ and is excited by the incredible scope for variety in your role.

**What to expect**:
You will be involved in NPD, you will actively work with the R&D team and work closely with the production engineering team as well as the manufacturing team, helping to introduce suppliers who meet capability requirements.

You will have managed spend budgets upwards of £500,000 and a high volume of products as well as managed relationships with a large number of suppliers.

You will be adept in negotiation and managing risk in the supply chain, ensuring supplier viability/sustainability, product quality, life cycle management, risk of obsolescence and failure.

You will possess the ability to ensure that parts are delivered on time to allow production plans to be met. Work with the QA department to address any part quality issues, and implement sustainable solutions

You can analyse commodity group spend to target potential benefits including cost reduction. Undertake regular cost benchmarking reviews on key parts / commodity group and identify opportunities for supplier consolidation to achieve increased throughput and price reduction.

**Summary of the role**:

- Sourcing of components and materials to support new product development and ongoing production.
- Selection of domestic and international suppliers considering best value, quality of goods, service levels and risk management.
- establish and manage strategic supplier relationships for assigned commodities.
- ensure compliance with applicable legal frameworks and CSR.
- effectively maintain MRP.
- Become a Product Specialist and Purchasing Lead for NPD.
