At Farmfield Hospital we offer low and medium secure services for male patients who have been detained under the Mental Health Act (1983) and who benefit from extended treatment and rehabilitation. The hospital has 52 beds spread across 5 wards. Treatmentis targeted towards safe re-settlement into the community where possible.
Working 30 hours a week, you will lead, support and supervise the occupational health team and will be responsible for monitoring budgets and resource purchases.

**Your responsibilities will include**:
- Manage a caseload using an evidence-based approach and client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions. These will provide service users with the confidence, skills and coping strategies to function in everyday life.
- Receive and respond promptly to new admissions, undertaking assessments to identify and prioritise service user's needs before planning and delivering the appropriate and relevant interventions either on an individual or group basis. The OT team followsMOHO (Model of Human Occupation).
- Contribute to risk assessments, attend ward rounds and CPA meetings where you will feedback on service users' engagement in Occupational Therapy. Ensure accurate and timely records are kept detailing each service user's progress.
- Take a lead within the Occupational Therapy Team in the absence of the Lead Occupational Therapist.
- Ensure the effective and efficient management and supervision of more junior staff.
- Maintain and develop close working relationships with professional and clinical colleagues within the multi-disciplinary team, ensuring clinical practise is in line with Elysium policies and procedures and complies with statutory regulations and qualitystandards.
- Contribute to business growth by actively promoting Elysium therapy services in line with the local unit's business plan.
- Maintain effective communication links with patients, relatives, carers and external professionals throughout the patient's rehabilitation journey.
- Contribute towards service evaluation and development.
**To be successful in this role, you'll need**:
- To hold a BSC (Hons) or equivalent in Occupational Therapy.
- HCPC registration.
- RCOT membership is recommended, though not essential.
- To have at least 2 years clinical experience including some experience of working in a mental health inpatient setting.Previous experience of working in a secure setting would be advantageous but is not essential.
