**Job overview**:
- To assist the healthcare practitioner to carry out routine health related activities within the acute setting.
**Main duties of the job**:
The role of Emergency Department Assistant is to support the clinical care of patients within the Emergency Department and to prepare clinical areas to receive patients.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Cleaning equipment
Re stocking equipment
Serving refreshments
Assisting with patients basic care needs
Communicating with patients and their friends/families
