Emergency Planning Officer

About the role
In this Emergency Planning Officer role you will join a small corporate team planning and preparing to ensure that the County Council can respond effectively to major emergencies and business disruptions, and effectively discharge it's responsibilities within the Civil Contingencies Act. You will work with a range of partners to plan, prepare and practice our response arrangements.
In the event of an incident occurring you will play a vital role, responding to the event, supporting the management of the response, end enabling the recovery and restoration following on.

What will you be doing?
As an Emergency Planning Officer you will be
- designing and managing planning, training and exercise schedules which enhance our emergency and business continuity readiness
- working with partners to ensure a common strategy
- participating in our 24/7 emergency operational rota
- organising and delivering debriefs and reviews following incidents
- striving to improve our readiness in light of the risks that we have identifies
