New Springfield is a 55-bedroom care home offering residential, dementia, nursing, respite and day care in the heart of the Blackburn community. Located on Preston New Road, our home offers easy access by public transport or car.
We offer regular live entertainment and performances alongside a varied and vibrant lifestyle and wellbeing programme. Recent events include a trip to Corporation Park, a visit to the local theatre and we host a weekly choir and art club We welcome our local nursery for visits and organise community events in the home. Our minibus is available for a weekly outing and visits.

**The role**
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Carer to join our wonderful team. You will play a vital role in delivering our quality, person-centred care and be responsible for overseeing the care team, ensuring that all residents receive the highest standard of care in our shared home. **Key Responsibilities**:
- Lead and support the care team in providing compassionate, individualised care to our residents.
- Develop and implement personalised care plans, tailored to the unique needs of each resident.
- Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere, encouraging residents to engage in social activities and form meaningful connections.
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, mobility and assisting at mealtimes.
- Administer medications and monitor the health and well-being of our residents, recording events in digital care plans.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families and healthcare professionals.
- Uphold our commitment to dignity, respect and privacy for all our residents.
- Participate in continuous professional development and training.
**Qualifications and Skills**

- Previous experience in a senior care role, preferably within a residential or nursing home setting.
- A compassionate and empathetic nature with a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of our residents.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Compliance with regulatory requirements for quality and safety and meet CQC standards.
- Excellent knowledge and experience of the assessment, admission and discharge process, including care planning using digital platforms.
- Being an inspiring role model and be able to motivate, educate and teach fellow team members.
- Being able to treat everyone we support with dignity and respect.
- A commitment to continuous improvement and delivering high standards of care.
- NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care, equivalent qualification or willing to work towards this.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dedicated team.
- A commitment to maintaining high standards of care and professionalism.
- A current clear DBS and a willingness to undertake a new one for this role.
