Payroll Manager

We are working with a social housing provider to assist them with their search for a Payroll Manager on a temporary basis to fulfil a 3-month contract.
Reporting to the Head of Payroll, with the line management responsibility of the payroll officers, you will be responsible for ensuring that the payroll function meets internal KPIs and standards ensuring consistent, accurate and timely payroll servicesare delivered across the organisation
Key accountabilities include:
- Supporting the Head of Payroll with management of the payroll team
- Weekly/monthly payrolls
- Colleague expenses
- Annual salary reviews and performance related payments
- Salary benchmarking
- Submitting accurate and timely returns to colleagues and external agencies
- Addressing any overpayments
- Correspondence to colleagues and others
- Pension administration
- Benefits administration
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of all data and returns to HMRC and other regulators
- Contribute to the development of the payroll element of a Finance Service Level Agreement with the business.
- Ensure the accuracy, timeliness and compliance of all aspects of the payroll and benefits cycle.
- Ensure processes and controls are in place to make sure payroll changes are undertaken with appropriate authority only
- Establish controls to minimise the risk of overpayments
Proven payroll experience is essential coupled with line management experience.
This is a hybrid role with the requirement to be present in the office 1-2 times per week
