The Role As Payroll Manager, you will take responsibility for the end‑to‑end processing of payrolls for a varied portfolio of clients spanning multiple industries. You will ensure accuracy, compliance, and consistently high service levels, while acting as a key point of contact for client queries. Your key responsibilities as the Payroll Manager Manage and process weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls for a portfolio of clients. Ensure full compliance with HMRC legislation, pensions auto‑enrolment, and statutory requirements. Liaise directly with clients to resolve payroll queries and provide expert guidance. Prepare payroll reports, journals, and year‑end documentation (P60s, P11Ds, etc.). Oversee and review payroll work completed by junior team members (if applicable). Maintain accurate employee records and ensure timely submission of RTI filings. To be considered for this Payroll Manager position, you will have Previous experience managing payroll in a practice or bureau environment. Strong understanding of payroll legislation and best practice. Excellent communication and client‑facing skills.High level of accuracy and ability to manage multiple deadlines. Experience with payroll software (such as Sage, BrightPay, or similar).
