The post holder will have responsibility for collecting the outcomes from spinal surgery patients preoperatively, and six weeks, six months, one year and two year postoperatively and uploading the scores onto the British Spine Registry. This will include attending clinics, phoning patients to complete scores and maintaining records of when outcomes are collected and when they are due as well as filing completed outcome forms in patient notes. The post holder will maintain a database - liaising with the Specialist Nurses - of all spinal surgeries that are undertaken on a week by week basis for audit purposes. The post holder will have a key role in the provision of services and will need to exercise initiative, independent judgement and decision. The post holder will ensure that the data on the system is clean at all times and that training initiatives are implemented to ensure that the number of pathways needing validation are minimised.
