Band 3 NMSK Complex Knee Revision Network Co-ordinator - Avon Orthopaedic Centre, Southmead Hospital, Brunel Building.

We have a great opportunity to join our busy and friendly team in NMSK within our Trauma & Orthopaedic department in the Brunel Building at Southmead Hospital.

We need someone who is able to work well independently, with excellent communication skills and is able to engage and build relationships with clerical and clinical colleagues.

You will be assisting in the co-ordination of the induction and rotation of staff within the department. You will need to have good organisational and problem solving skills, the ability to prioritise together with a flexible approach to working in order to meet the demands of the service.

This post is a Fixed term 12 months cover for Maternity leave.
- To be responsible for the collation, collection and inputting of the patient activity data required to monitor and quality assure complex knee and hip services in the trust.
- Also to carry out all administrative duties, in relation to the complex knee and hip pathway, ensuring appropriate records are maintained.
- To prospectively track the patient pathway using the Tracking and Escalation procedure.

The Avon Orthopaedic Centre (AOC) located in the Brunel Building is the largest specialist elective orthopaedic centre in the Southwest, 4th largest nationally, the Major Trauma provider for the Severn region, and regional tertiary referral centre for complex spinal surgery. The Trauma team work closely with the regional plastic surgery and regional vascular teams in the management of major trauma, and in addition have excellent outcomes with ambulatory and elderly trauma including hip fractures.

The elective Orthopaedic service is provided by a team of 39 North Bristol Trust and University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust Consultants, as part of a Bristol wide centralised orthopaedic service delivered at the AOC.
- To be responsible for the efficient collection of the Complex Knee and Hip Waiting Times and minimum datasets, and entry of this information onto the database.
- To provide general administrative duties to the Complex Knee and Hip Network teams, to include photocopying, filing, basic clerical duties, distributing documents quickly and efficiently, and the collection of notes.
- To prepare regular reports to the clinical team on their performance in relation to national guidelines and take part in local and national audits as required.
- To represent the Trust, at local, regional and national Complex Knee and Hip Network information meetings, to further the post holders development and enable accurate and detailed data collection.
- Work with information analysts to produce reports and validate data.
- Maintain good working relationships with Clinicians, Specialist Nurses, clerical and secretarial staff.
- To update information on the Bone And Joint Infection Registry (BAJIR) if appropriate.
- Work closely with information systems staff and communicate and work with the spinal surgery team across all NBT sites and wider in the Severn Network.
