Following the recent success of becoming accredited to Version 9 of the BRCGS food safety standard, Farmison & Co in Ripon is looking to grow its operational Technical Compliance team to support and develop the expansion of this growing business.

This is a key role within the business ensuring compliance and continuous improvements across Food Safety, Quality, compliance and Hygiene.

**You must have Food Industry manufacturing experience, preferably in the meat sector.**

We are recruiting for the position of Technical & Specification co-ordinator to join our Technical and Compliance team at Farmison & Co. We are looking for someone with experience in writing internal and external specifications, in addition to this you will be responsible for co-ordinating the administration of the Quality Management System to ensure compliance to our standards. You will have had at least 2 years experience working in a food manufacturing environment and be well versed with completing specifications, NPD processes and the requirements of BRC.

You will be used to working to short deadlines and have strong communication skills. We are looking for someone who has a proactive approach and is ready to work with our operations team, in the operational areas, creating internal specifications as well as completing external customer specifications.

There is the option for hybrid working once the initial training has been completed - however at least 3 days will be required on site.

Role and responsabilities:
Ø Create specifications for retailers, foodservice, B2B and branded products, in the appropriate format or IT system, to the required standard and within the appropriate timescales.

Ø Co-ordinate shelf life sampling as required to support new product launches

Ø Provide nutritional information as required for new products.

Ø To liaise with the operations team to obtain the appropriate product details, to ensure that the correct information is present on all specifications.

Ø To generate and implement factory Specifications and QAS’s through coordination with operations team.

Ø Co-ordinate approval of raw material specifications, in conjunction with Head of Technical, NPD and purchasing.

Ø Maintain system for new supplier approval, ensuring that all approvals are up to date and requirements are met.

Ø Maintain document control system to ensure compliance.

Ø Support Head of Technical in maintaining specifications and other aspects of the Quality Management System as required.

Ø To manage the specification files and ensure that all information is always present and available within the operational environment.

Ø To provide a flexible resource to the Technical Compliance dept. for any other reasonable duties.

Ø To train and coach the sites operational team against completed specifications as required

Ø Be an integral part of the team responsible for reviewing artwork, creating the pack copy and signing off the finished product packaging/ labels.

Ø Provide support for our portfolio of new products to ensure accurate specifications are available for our factory, for our customers and for our suppliers.

Work closely with our internal and external stakeholders to present a professional, right first time point of contact for all aspects of specification & artwork.
