Your new role

Here at National Highways, we have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Business Analyst to join our Major Projects directorate. This role can be based from our Birmingham or Bedford offices with some travel as and when required for business needs andteam meetings.

In this role, you will be supporting the workforce planning teaM/Function and be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and assurance of data to produce timely performance reporting.

What you will be leading on

- Ensure that corporate workforce planning tools and systems are kept up to date; engage with the Workforce Planning team to process system updates to required deadlines, which in turn will support local workforce planning activities and enable accurate andtimely reporting across the Directorate.
- Proactively improve data quality; check, validate and reconcile information against different data sources, identifying and working to resolve discrepancies.
- Work in partnership with the Human Resources team(s) to raise Service Tickets in order to support the administration and management of changes to workforce planning data.
- Accurately manage and record changes to the approved workforce plan and the required approvals in line with corporate governance.
- Support month-end reporting, carry out analysis and interpretation of complex workforce data against resourcing objectives, and identify trends and emerging issues to support accurate forecasting.
- Lead on the collation and processing of weekly system requisitions awaiting approval, working with the Workforce Planning team to conduct appropriate levels of assurance and governance, recording, and tracking outcomes.
- Contribute to the continuous development and improvement of performance reports, processes, and workforce planning services to ensure accuracy and consistency as well as high levels of customer service.
To be successful
- Previous business analysis experience working in a performance reporting environment
- Ability to assimilate, analyse and quality assure complex data from a range of sources
- Autonomous working to tight deadlines through effective prioritisation of workload whilst ensuring a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to drive effective continuous process improvement to achieve organisational objectives
- Demonstrable experience of communicating with a range of stakeholders at different levels, and a strong customer focus
