**Job Title**: CNC Machinist
**Location**: Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire
**Duration**: Perm role
**Pay Rate: £34,500 to £41,000**
We are currently recruiting for a CNC Machinist for a perm role for a Rail Engineering company based in Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire.

Must be time served and have used Fanuc machines
A keen eye for detail and great mechanical aptitude are also essential. The goal is to produce high quality parts and materials by programming machines to perform the right operations.
**Key Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Prepare and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, Turning, milling, etc.
- Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading drawings and working from viable instructions.
- Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function.
- Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines
- Prepare a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications.
- Set machines to complete full cycles to fabricate large number of parts.
- Controlling machines and processes.
- Performing inspections of equipment, structures, materials, and products.
- Analysing information and finding the best solutions to problems.
- Maintaining clear and honest communication at all times.
- Keeping the work environment safe.
- Mentor trainees / apprentices when applicable.
- Work to and support all relevant 5S activities.
- Report any near misses.
- Ensure that waste is disposed of in the correct manner.
- Report any issues or problems with jobs to the line manager.
- Adhere at all times to the company's Health, Safety & Environmental instructions, and requirements.
- Take on any other reasonable responsibilities or tasks that are within the employee's skills and abilities.
**Background & Experience**:

- Minimum 1- 2 years' experience in relevant rail or automotive industry.
- Be practical mechanically oriented.
- Possess good problem-solving skills.
- Recognised engineering qualification required
**Qualifications & Education Required**:

- Recognised Machining / engineering qualification required.
- Good understanding or mathematics.
- Self-motivated.
- Ability to read and understand Engineer drawings.
