Finance Officer

**Finance Officer - £30,362 per annum - Liverpool / Hybrid** **The Role** Are you organised and able to prioritise a varied workload? Prima Group is looking for a Finance Officer to work alongside the Management Accountant and Finance Manager to provide a first-rate operational finance function. We offer a supportive environment, encouraging colleagues to take an agile and flexible approach, working both remotely and from our modern offices at Columbus Quay, Liverpool which offers stunning views of the River Mersey and free on-site parking. **Key Responsibilities**: The key responsibilities of a Finance Officer, but are not limited to: - Provide support to the Management Accountant/Finance Manager to ensure a high-quality finance function is delivered. - Responsible for the reconciliation of various controls and assist in the production of management accounts for service areas. - Responsible for setting and issuing timely budget reports and assisting in budget preparation. - Responsible for preparation and submission of VAT returns. - Responsible for reconciliation of cashbooks and the preparation of Group & individual entity cash flows and explaining variances to actuals. - Produce service charge calculations and accounts for across the Group - Co-ordinate and direct the service charge project group, to ensure service charge calculations are delivered within agreed timescales. - Assist in calculating and implementing social rent charges. - Assist the Management Accountant, Finance Manager and Director of Finance in the year end process and audit and production of the statutory financial statements. - Support the Management Accountant/ Finance Manager to ensure correct accounting of the Group’s Development program, Component replacements and all other fixed assets and Investments. - During high workloads provide support to the Finance Assistants. - Mentor and support the Finance Assistants and Apprentice to aid learning and progression within the team. **The Company** Our Mission, with over 2700 properties in our portfolio, is to put "customers and communities first" by investing in people, homes, and neighbourhoods. We take pride in our people. **The Benefits** - Healthcare scheme - Salary sacrifice scheme for qualifying staff - Pension scheme - 24 days annual leave plus bank holidays and 4 Concessionary Days over the Christmas period. - 35-hour week - Fully flexible working arrangements - Hybrid working both remotely and from our modern offices with free onsite parking. **The Person** The key skills and qualities of a Finance Officer are: - Experience working within an accounts function. - Intermediate excel experience, for example, experience of using pivot tables and vlookups. - Advantageous to have experience in rent and service charge setting - An ability to consistently improve services provided. - Part Qualified Accountant. - Studying to obtain a higher accountancy qualification. - Ability to think on your feet & respond to complications calmly and efficiently. - Highly organised and be thorough with great attention to detail. - Excellent communication skills - both written and verbally. - A can-do empathetic attitude with the ability to build a rapport. - Demonstrates drive and resilience. - Self-starting and self-motivated.
