St Peter's Hospice is seeking a talented** Philanthropy Officer** to join our Fundraising and Communications Department.
As a Philanthropy Officer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of our fundraising strategy, driving growth, and significantly increasing major gift income for the Hospice.
We need a dynamic and focused major donor lead who understands the importance of nurturing supporter relationships by providing exceptional stewardship. We require someone with a great can-do attitude, who is organised and has excellent prioritisation skills.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work within the Philanthropy and Partnerships Team to provide excellent supporter care and stewardship for our major gift supporters.
**Key responsibilities**:
- Working with the Philanthropy & Partnerships Manager, develop and deliver a fundraising strategy to secure agreed income targets and grow income from philanthropists.
- With support from the Philanthropy & Partnerships Manager, plan, manage and monitor the budget for your income stream, providing regular progress reports and analysis when required.
- Work with Hospice colleagues to understand their requirements and develop a range of creative and compelling funding propositions that will appeal to philanthropists.
- Accurately research potential funders to understand their interests, ensuring asks are made at appropriate times.
- Develop and maintain relationships with supporters to maximise their giving and deliver brilliant stewardship including thank you letters, personalised communications, reports and updates.
- Working with the Philanthropy & Partnerships Manager, plan and run cultivation and stewardship events throughout the year for recruitment and retention.
- Keep abreast of current trends in philanthropy to innovate and trial new approaches to engage support.
- Use the fundraising database effectively, ensuring all information is accurately recorded and in a timely manner.
- Keep the Philanthropy & Partnerships Manager fully informed of all activities at regular meetings and prepare reports as required.
- Work collaboratively with all other areas of fundraising as needed to contribute to the success of the wider team.
**What we can offer you**:
- Salary: from £26,932 to £29,925 per annum (FTE), dependent on experience
- Working hours: either 30 or 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday
- Office location: Long Ashton, Bristol - Hybrid

St Peter's Hospice is a well-loved hospice that provides extensive inpatient and community services, in Bristol and the surrounding areas. Every year St Peter's Hospice makes a difference in the lives of thousands of patients and their families when it matters most.
Many of our staff work directly with patients and their families in nursing, health care and medical jobs. Others raise money to support patient care through our chain of over 40 charity shops and our fundraising activities. We also have a significant number of staff working in varied office-based roles.

Our Inpatient Unit is a state-of-the-art centre of clinical excellence, that was built with the generous support of the people of Bristol. Beyond our Inpatient Unit, you'll find our team in homes and on the phone 24/7. More recently in response to the pandemic we have moved some services online to continue support for our patients.
The Hospice is also a centre of educational excellence and we teach other healthcare professionals about how to care for people at the end of their lives, supporting the NHS and care homes provide end of life care.
