Our Water Treatment team have an opportunity for you to join as our new **Water Treatment Lead.**
In this exciting new role based in the West region (12 month fixed term contract), you’ll be responsible for managing the process team who provide expert scientific process advice to the surface water treatment works we have in the company handling both day to day trend improvements and reacting to site performance. This opportunity is to line manage this team of experts and ensure that we drive efficient process performance whilst managing the Water Quality risk and improving our Compliance Risk Index score.
This role is to lead the team, guiding them in their development and knowledge sharing to ensure that the process decisions on site are driven by process risk and the optimised operation of our surface Water Treatment Works. This is a challenging role offering great variety of work leading this team and driving to maintain and improve our company performance. As a lead of the Water Treatment Process team you will day to day manage a team of 7 Water Treatment experts, providing leadership and management to enable to the day to day technical advice to our largest and critical surface water treatment works.
As part of this role you will be ensuring that process issues at these works are advised upon to remedy any process performance issues plus proactively look at trend analysis for ensuring we continue to provide the right quality of water to our customers. This lead role ensures the optimisation of drinking water treatment processes for both quality and cost, by resource managing the team to be reviewing performance of the Water Treatment Works, participating in water quality improvement initiatives, identifying and supporting the delivery of operational efficiencies (chemical, energy) and disseminating best practice within the team and closely associated operational teams.
Some of your other key accountabilities will include:
- You must be able to manage a team of technical experts in water treatment.
- Prioritise workload and work across multiple teams to ensure that the balanced approach to risk management.
- Motivate the team in delivering an effective process decision every day.
- proactively look at trend analysis for ensuring we continue to provide the right quality of water to our customers.
- Help ensure that future site improvements needing investment are targeted by working closely with other lead roles within the asset Management structure
**WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE**
We’re seeking our new Team lead to be comfortable at operating at a strategic level, with proven experience of setting targets, monitoring progress, and driving results. You’ll have excellent communication skills, with an ability to engage and influence decision making with key stakeholders. To be successful as a leader of a technical team you need to have experience on how to lead and inspire a hard-working, highly technical team. You need to be a highly motivated individual that is able to work independently, have the ability to prioritise workload and work across multiple teams to ensure that the balanced approach to risk management is maintained across our water treatment works
