This role is based in the Housing Growth team within Essex County Council and funded from Essex Housing Officers Group. The postholder will report to the Housing Growth Lead (Homelessness & Rough Sleeping) with task management from the Chair of Essex HousingOfficers Group

Essex Housing Officers Group (EHOG) is an umbrella Essex wide group consisting of a range of key stakeholders including district housing authorities, Essex County Council and registered housing providers. EHOG has recently launched their vision to work inpartnership across the county to promote/share good practice in strategic housing, housing management/operations, stimulate housing growth, align strategic housing aspirations and reduce homelessness and the use of temporary housing

This role requires the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders at a senior level, together with excellent organisational skills. With experience and knowledge of affordable housing the postholder will co-ordinate thesuccessful delivery of agreed projects set by EHOG.

The postholder will be responsible for setting up and delivering agreed workplans, researching and coordinating housing projects, coordinating meetings and events, sharing national, regional and local expertise and taking accurate minutes

**Role Responsibilities**:

- Research, develop and lead projects and progress through the project management and governance process, complying with the Council's project management protocols and in liaison with the relevant staff in Essex County Council and partner agencies.
- Research and project manage specific EHOG workstreams and co-ordinate ideas, knowledge and experience from members.
- Accountable for the implementation of the approved EHOG and sub-groups workplan.
- Manage, support, co-ordinate individual EHOG projects co-ordinating and summarising contributions from all members and stakeholders.
- Arrange, facilitate and minute EHOG and Essex Homelessness Officers' meetings and track subsequent actions.
- Represent the EHOG Chair and members, including effective liaison with internal and external partners as appropriate and as required.
- Provide project support to the EHOG Chair.
- Prepare high-level briefings for related groups, partners and members.
- Support EHOG members in individual work streams that support EHOG objectives.
- Raise membership subscription invoices and track payment and monitor EHOG funds and provide up to date balances to the Chair as required
- Contribute to financial control activities including ordering goods and services and processing invoices, ensuring all transactions comply with Financial Regulations.
- The post holder must be prepared to carry out any other reasonable management instructions and to self-manage own time and workstreams to ensure EHOG tasks are completed in line with time scales given.

**Skills, Knowledge and Experience**:

- Educated to A level or equivalent by experience
- Relevant experience of successfully working in a high profile internal and external project environment
- A successful track record of project implementation using the principles of project management.
- Competent in working with Microsoft products
- Knowledge and understanding of affordable housing
- Ability to build relationships and work productively with partners
- Attention to detail and accurate project management and minute taking skills
- Highly organised with an ability to use own initiative
- Evidence of continuing professional development and expert knowledge in relevant professional area
- Strong communication skills with proven ability to translate information in a clear way to a wide range of audiences.
