Interventional Radiology Administrator

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Interventional Radiology Administrator based at out Ipswich Hospital site.
You will be responsible for providing full administrative support to the Interventional Radiology Department, staff and patients at Ipswich Hospital.
You will liaise with Consultant Radiologists, Radiographers, Consultants and key personnel within ESNEFT and external hospitals whilst maintaining a high level of patient confidentiality whilst accessing the Hospital-based Information systems and all other patient identifiable data.
- Responsible for assisting the Lead Radiographer in monitoring all Interventional requests
- Book patients that require pre-assessment into Clinic.
- Put the planned appointments on to CRIS correctly and ensure that any appointment information is sent out in a timely fashion
- For vascular patients information may be sent from the department and also from admissions depending on the stage of the process.
- To ensure that relevant information for booking hospital transport is imparted to the patient as and when appropriate
- To look up and print blood results for patient appointments. To arrange blood tests if there are any outstanding tests that are required for the procedure
- Ensure diabetic patients are booked as appropriate to the examination requested seeking support if required
- If a diabetic patient is taking diabetic medication explaining to the patient the medications they need to stop taking in line with the RCR guidelines, seeking advice if required
- To ensure that vascular patients are booked in accordance with the clinic and undertake all preparation work
- To prioritise own workload so that everything is organised for each procedure ensuring that all patients have their procedure as quickly as possible with regard to waiting list targets and clinical urgency
- Dealing with patients on the phone and in person in a timely and professional manner
- Liaise with doctors and other departments within the Trust to ensure the smooth running of each patient’s pathway experience
