**About the Role**
Are you an experienced Health and Safety professional who is an excellent communicator who is passionate about Health and Safety and influencing change in behavior and culture?

Working closely with the Group Health and Safety Manager and collaboratively with key stakeholders, you will be part of a friendly and dynamic team supporting the Health and Safety of the group.

This field based role will involve
- Providing professional advise, training and support to circa 46 Retail Stores and 12 Distribution Centres
- Complete audit close out meetings and agree findings from reports with local management along with actions to address weaknesses identified
- Raising awareness of risk and providing the Group Health and Safety Manager with assurance that the management framework of Health and Safety is effective
- Ensuring compliance and company best practice regarding Health and Safety issues and effectively following up on external audits, insurance inspections, EHO and Fire Officer visits.
- Complete accident investigations when required
- Complete Fire Risk Assessment reviews across your region following a structured plan
- As part of a National team, assisting with the regular review of Health and Safety documentation and developing new policies and systems taking into account new and current legislation, best practice and business needs
- Monitoring your regions performance of Health and Safety through the online management system.
- Flexibility will be required as you will support our manufacturing sites on occasion

**About You**
- H&S experience within the retail and distribution sector preferred
- Hold NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent
- Have excellent time management and planning skills, covering over 50 sites in the North
- Have strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity
- Be self motivated with the ability to work from home 1-2 days per week on average
- Be able to manager their own calendar and be flexible on daily working patterns
- Good IT proficiency

**Working Pattern**
You will ideally be based in the North of the UK with occasional travel to DFS Group Support Centre in Doncaster, for meetings and the ability to travel is therefore a requirement of the job.

This field based role will require you to spend time away during the week and some home working. General working pattern will be Monday - Friday with very occasional travel on the weekend.

Working hours are 0900 - 1730 with some flexibility required due to the nature of the field based role.
