Health and Safety Advisor

Role: Health & Safety Advisor Location: Various locations across Yorkshire & Midlands
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 8:15am - 4:45pm, Monday to Friday

As the Health & Safety Advisor, you will have a firm understanding of the construction industry, with the main responsibility of undertaking safety inspections on all active sites on a monthly basis. You will audit against the health and safety policy, relevant legislation, and best practice within the industry. You will be responsible for continuing to embed the positive Health and Safety culture across our sites, including building strong relationships with the site and operational teams and ensuring compliance through training, coaching and mentoring of colleagues. You will support the Group Head of Health & Safety with any projects which contribute to the overall departmental aims and objectives.

Have an in depth knowledge of the companies Health and Safety policies and procedures.
Undertake monthly (or as required) site safety inspections both where Strata are the Principal Contractor and / or Client under the CDM Regulations.
Ensuring the company is legally compliant with all health and safety legislation and keeping up to date with any legislative changes.
Investigate and report (where required) to the Group Head of Health and Safety all potential RIDDOR, accidents, incidents and near misses.
Ensuring the relevant HSE advice, support, guidance and management is communicated to the site teams.
Review Principal Contractors Construction Phase Plans (CPP) where Strata are the client.
Liaising with relevant external regulatory / enforcement authorities (HSE / EA etc).
Responsibility to ensure that employees receive the relevant training, coaching and mentoring to manage, monitor and improve the health and safety standards in the workplace.
Championing and driving a positive health and safety ethos/attitude throughout the company.
