**About the Role**:
As an Industrial Placement student in our Core Technology Team, you will be a valued member of the IT Department, bringing your analytical nature and high standards to a range of range of exciting, real-world challenges.

Working collaboratively across the IT Department, your ideas and skills will make a tangible contribution to the performance of our team, both on and off the track, working to support, operate and evolve our networking capabilities.

During this placement you will have the opportunity to work with industry leading networking technologies in fields such as data centre, campus and wireless networking, perimeter security and associated software systems.

**Essential**:

- You will have a strong background in computer science with a good understanding of networking and security concepts and principles.
- You will be capable of working both independently and as part of a team, have a learning mindset, good organisation and problem-solving skills and a fine attention to detail.
- Flexibility in hours and approach is required, along with a ‘can do’, ‘team-playing’ attitude and the ability to work to strict deadlines under mínimal supervision.

**Desirable**:

- Any industry recognised networking certifications
- Working towards a degree in computer networks, networks and security or computer science.
- A passion for IT and Technology

**Skills you could gain from your placement include**:

- Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting the computer network systems for an organization
- Designing, developing, and evaluating network systems and related communications
- Analysing network requirements and optimizing network operations
- Setting up and configuring computer networks in one or across multiple locations
- Providing technical support for all the components of the system, including both hardware and software
- Managing network IP addresses and communicating network information and requirements
- Installing, upgrading, and maintaining network routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, wireless controllers, and other network devices and servers
