We have an opportunity within the Council where you’ll be responsible for delivering careers information, advice and guidance (IAG) interventions to young people in Luton who are NEET (Not in Education, Employment and Training), helping them to remove barriers to participation and engage in positive opportunities.

This is an important role where you’ll be responsible for supporting our careers IAG traded services offer to schools delivering quality, impartial, guidance interventions that prepare pupils for the world of work, teaches them to manage their own career planning, supports transition into positive Post 16 destinations and reduces the number of young people who are Not in Education, Employment, or Training (NEET).

About you

We are looking for someone with demonstrable experience of working with young people aged 11-25 years old and experience of Inter-agency partnership work in statutory or voluntary / independent sector.

We are looking for someone with the ability to advise and work closely with professionals from a range of statutory / non statutory agencies on the delivery of the service plans.

You’ll have strong communication skills, both verbally and in written correspondence as you’ll be dealing with a wide range of people, sensitively and constructively, and writing reports

This is an exciting opportunity where you’ll be able to develop your existing knowledge of best practice in personal guidance interventions.

We do ask that you hold one of the following qualifications in Careers Guidance:
Level 6 Careers Guidance & Development or Qualification in Career Guidance (QCG) or
Qualification in Career Development or Post graduate Diploma in Careers Guidance
or
NVQ Level 4 in Advice and Guidance/Guidance/LDSS (Cluster)/LDSS (Supporting Young People Pathway) along with three specified QCF Level 6 units (Reflect on and improve professional practice, Career guidance theory, Use career and labour market information) or the equivalent careers related HE Modules.
