**Do you want to make a big difference to the waste collection and cleansing services in Cornwall?**

We are looking for a self-motivated individual to join our high-performing and supportive team.

This position involves monitoring and managing the waste collection and cleansing standards in the North-East of Cornwall, you will therefore need to have experience in customer services, service level or contract monitoring and be able work well as part of a team, with contractors and on your own.

It is an exciting time as we make significant changes to our waste collection services, with a new service design including the introduction of wheeled bins, fortnightly collections and a separate food waste collection service.

**The Role**

You will be the main point of contact for your area dealing with customer queries, service-related issues and liaising with the contractors.

You will regularly liaise with elected members, customers and town and parish councillors.

The role includes desk-based and site-based monitoring of the waste collections and cleansing standards on roads, public open spaces and beaches.

This post also involves monitoring contract compliance at the Council’s waste delivery points and household waste recycling centres. You will be required to enforce contract standards, including monitoring health and safety, environmental and policy related requirements.

Due to the nature of this role, a lot of travel is required each week within the specified area. It is therefore essential that you can drive and have access to a vehicle.

**Who are we looking for?**

You will be self-motivated and confident to operate out in the field as part of a remote working team. You will have experience of liaising with customers and Councillors, problem solving and dealing with challenging issues.

**Location**

This role is based in Cornwall and the area to be monitored being the North Cornwall area.

You will be required to work in a hybrid manner e.g. from home, Council offices and out on site in Cornwall.
