Programme Office Governance Lead
Our people work differently depending on their jobs and needs. From hybrid working to flexible hours, we have plenty of options that help our people to thrive.
This role is based in the United Kingdom and as such all normal working days must be carried out in the United Kingdom.
Join us as a Programme Office Governance Lead
- In this key leadership role, you’ll be responsible for leading and embedding a ‘one bank’ approach to achieve brilliant outcomes for our customers
- We’re getting ready to deliver the largest conduct and regulatory change initiative in over a decade - the Financial Conduct Authority’s new Consumer Duty
- We’ll look to you to establish and lead the governance workstream for a new and high-profile Consumer Duty Transformation & Delivery function that will be fundamental to our success in embedding the Financial Conduct Authority’s new Consumer Duty across NatWest Group
- Expect your voice to be heard, your passions to be harnessed, and your success to be rewarded and recognised with us
**What you'll do**:
As our Programme Office Governance Lead, guided by the overarching principles of the FCA’s new Consumer Duty, you’ll deliver the integrity of the programme and facilitate the strategic aims for the Consumer Duty Transformation & Delivery function, helping us to achieve great outcomes for our 19 million customers through a ‘one bank’ approach. This will involve governing and controlling the work reception, planning and supporting the business case, tracking the performance and progress of financial control, including financial reporting and forecasting.
‘One bank’ means setting each other up to win by thinking of solutions that could work across NatWest Group. It means being generous with our time so that everybody benefits and challenging each other to think further. Because when everyone thrives, we can move faster, we can solve multiple problems in one go, and we can do so in a way that means updates and changes in the future will be easier to do.
Your top priorities will include:
- Liaising with key project stakeholders on a regular basis and ensuring excellent communication between other programme managers and senior stakeholders to deliver appropriate resolutions and escalations of risks and financials
- Maintaining close relationships between other key programmes and working groups, to make sure that there are no overlaps in responsibilities
- Providing secretariat activities including meeting minutes, inputting papers, terms of reference and communications to stakeholders
- Establishing quality assurance activities for various project deliverables and knowledge management activities, such as maintaining repositories and ensuring compliance to established processes
- Establishing and controlling the reporting of programme costs, benefits and opportunities
- Building the reporting of baseline information for the programmes, including RAID, progress and detailed milestones of the programme and change control
**The skills you'll need**:
We’re looking for a project or programme manager with experience of establishing and running a programme or project office, using a wide range of customer data to make sure all deliverables are achieved, risks are managed, and that business and customer value is optimised. You’ll need effective leadership and management skills, coupled with excellent stakeholder management skills.
You’ll also demonstrate:
- Experience of managing and reporting to multiple senior stakeholders with diverse priorities
- Proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, MSP, Planview and SharePoint
- Experience of managing a diverse team of specialists with distinct skills and priorities
- Knowledge of our change frameworks, policies and procedures
- Experience of overseeing financial management activities, including budget setting, monitoring and reporting
- Critical thinking skills, enabling you to cut through complexity, and make sound decisions and recommendations that are carefully balanced against risk
