**The Role**
We are looking for an experienced Health and Safety trainer to join our existing team of highly qualified teaching professionals on a part time or casual basis. The training will primarily be Construction related short courses including Confined Space Entry, Asbestos Awareness, Manual Handling etc with training in other Health and Safety courses being required when needed.
- Delivery of a comprehensive range of training programmes in relation to Health and Safety, including courses such as H&S Awareness, SMSTS, SSSTS, Manual Handling, Working at Height, Abrasive Wheel.
- Use of additional training material such as video clips, photographs, and coursework to engage the audience and allow practical and theoretical knowledge retention.
- Ensuring that attendance registers are signed and passed to the administration in order to accurately record trainings on the employees’ personal files.
- Ensuring that feedback forms are completed by all delegates at the end of the course and reviewed to acknowledge any suggestions made on the delivery of the course in question.
- Liaising with the H&S Training Coordinator for the planning of external training.
- Responsible for the delivery of (mostly) on site and (some) off-site learning programmes.
- You’ll mostly deliver at our training centre and some away at our client venues.
- You may also want to deliver some online courses via zoom
Amongst other areas, you’ll be responsible for delivering courses like:
- CITB related courses
- IOSH related courses
- NRSW, PASMA, IPAF advantageous
You will have the opportunity to develop your assessing skills to be able to deliver and the above courses, where we will put your through training instructor courses, if qualification not already held.
**Note**: This list of duties is not exhaustive and there is an expectancy to contribute towards other projects and support colleagues in line with the needs of the business.

**What we need from you**:
We are looking for a forward thinking, experienced Health & Safety Trainer to always operate in line with STS Training values and behaviours and implement our policies and standards.
We use a number of IT systems, so the role would best suit someone who has good IT skills and comfortable adapting to new ones, assisted by the Training Manager.
It is essential that you have one or more of the following Qualifications OR be willing to work towards;
- NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Safety and Health
- Related qualifications and NVQ Level 2 and above construction industry related qualifications
- SVQ Level 4 in Occupational Safety and Health
- NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health Part2, NEBOSH Units A, B, C and D
- IPAF Instructor
- PASMA Instructor
- Education & Learning Lev 3
- Training Qualification (PTTLS C&G 7307 or equivalent)
- NRSW Instructor
You will also need;
- Excellent communication, IT and written skills
- Great people skills
- Superb self-management skills
- Up to date CPD (min 12 months)
- Solid experience and competency across several disciplines
- CITB Site Safety Plus (Approved Tutor Certificate) or willing to work towards this
- Adult Teaching Qualification (AET) or equivalent (PTLLS), or willing to work towards this
- Great verbal and written communication
- Punctual
- Highly organised and takes pride and ownership of skills delivery
- Positive teaching style with excellent presentation skills
- Ability to adapt and learn quickly
- Ability to work as part of a flexible team
**Desirable**
We would love it if you had;
- Minimum of three years occupational experience in a construction or health & safety related management role, that you can evidence
- Accreditation to deliver CITB SMSTS, SSSTS, H&SA and IOSH courses Managing Safely, Working Safely in Construction
- Site Manager Safety Training Scheme Certificate, SVQ/NVQ Lev 3 or above
