Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist

An opportunity has arisen for a qualified Band 5 HCPC registered Speech and Language Therapists to join our Adult SLT service. As part of the team you will assist us in working together to develop and improve the lives of adult stroke/neuro patients at various stages of rehabilitation. You will have an integral role in providing communication and swallow assessment and treatment to patients. You will be supported by experienced senior staff in your initial development, progressing to independent management of caseloads.
As a Band 5 SLT, you will provide assessment and treatment to an adult population with a range of speech, language and communication needs. You will work with patients who have suffered a neurological or stoke event in a variety of community settings.
You should have experience in the assessment, treatment and discharge planning of a variety of complex stroke/neuro patients and be willing to further develop these skills. You will have good networking skills and be familiar with current legislations and other relevant factors affecting change in the NHS.
You should be confident to work autonomously in community clinics and on home visits. You should also be able to demonstrate an ability to work as a part of a wider team.
You will support less experienced staff and facilitate students on placement within the service. and take responsibility for your own personal development i.e. CPD and mandatory training.
You will need to be able to travel independently between patient appointments citywide.
