Send Case Officer

Seven Resourcing are looking for a temporary SEND Case Officer to work in Middlesbrough. This position is initially for a period of 6 months and is paying from £15.00 - £20.00 per hour (PAYE and Umbrella payment options are available).
**The role**:
To support schools and other settings in the timely and effective assessment of children and young people with special educational needs/disabilities aged 0 to 25, prepare Education Health and Care Plans within a specified timetable to meet revised statutoryguidelines, working closely with a wide range of partners to ensure appropriate multi-agency provision is made available to meet the needs of individual children and young people.
**Key Responsibilities**:
To receive, interpret and analyse written advice and evidence from all agencies (both internal and external) involved in the formal education, health and care assessment of children and young people with SEND aged 0 - 25 and make recommendations to the LocalAuthority's designated Panel regarding appropriate provision for such pupils and the content of associated statutory documentation, according to legislation within the SEND Code of Practice.
To be responsible for the preparation of Education, Health & Care Plans, according to the SEND Code of Practice for children and young people aged 0 - 25, in conjunction with a range of multi-agency services within relevant timescales, to assist in u pdatingEHCPs following the annual review process and to assist in finalising EHCPs.
To assist with place planning activities. Support the maintenance of waiting lists for specialist education provision, based upon information from the Multi Agency Education Health and Care Panel, placement panel meetings and health and social care plusany other sources.
To liaise and develop links with schools, parents, and other agencies in relation to SEND and to contribute towards the development of appropriate provision, staff development and local procedures in relation to children and young people with SEND.
To contribute to the continuous professional development of Head Teachers, SENCos and other staff responsible for SEND 0-25 in schools, and other settings through supporting the delivery of tailored training programmes.
To contribute towards the regular monitoring of SEND 0-25 provision and evaluation of children and young people progress against specified criteria and t o assist with the development of systems to monitor and record the progress and outcomes for childrenand young people 0-25 with SEN.
To represent the Local Authority at statutory Annual, Transition, Looked After Child and other multi-agency reviews as required according to the SEND Code of Practice, and produce reports as appropriate and offer advice and/or guidance to school staff, parentsand other agencies on issues related to SEN provision and to attend SEN Cluster meetings to offer advice, guidance and training according to need and to contribute to the development/implementation of creative solutions to identified gaps in local provision.
To contribute to the documentation for submission to the Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunal, or Commissioner for Local Administration, as appropriate and to assist in the provision of management information, together with the collation andpreparation of appropriate reports, returns, statistics and notes.
To be a member of and contribute to multi-agency groups (such as Multi agency Education Health and Care Panel, Commissioning groups, Education Funding Agency, Further Education providers), in determining provision for a range of vulnerable children and youngpeople 0-25 at post-16 and post 19 transition.
To assist with maintaining statistical records of the work of the team including national and local performance indicators plus completion of statutory statistical returns.
To assist with providing support and information for OFSTED Inspection relating to SEND provision.
**Applicant Requirements**:
- **Qualifications**:Good level of general education to level 3 (A level or equivalent) including English and Maths (level 2) GCSE C grade and above.
- **Experience**:Experience in coordinating special educational needs administration, systems and procedures.
- **Compliance**:Proof of ability to work and live in the UK. Current DBS check and references covering the last 2 years.
- **Travel**:Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
- **Hours**:37.5 hours p/w.
