This is a comprehensive Neuro-Oncology fellowship within a high volume unit that is recognised as a Tessa Jowell Brain Tumour Centre of Excellence.
**Main duties of the job**:
The post holder will have a unique opportunity to work in a senior fellow role in co-ordinating the delivery of the Neuro-Oncology service with considerable opportunities for high level training in clinical management, advanced surgical techniques and research/audit, providing excellent preparation for a Neurosurgery Consultant position with an interest in Neuro-Oncology.
Regular exposure is assured to all specialist techniques including intra-operative MRI, 5-ALA guided surgery, awake craniotomy, intra-operative electrophysiology, intra-operative ultrasound and navigated tractography.

**Detailed job description and main responsibilities**:
The post holder will also be expected to contribute to the care of Neuro-Oncology patients via running rapid access Neuro-Oncology clinics, a leading role in ward rounds and to participate in the on call rota as a senior trainee.

**Essential criteria**:
- GMC licence to practice MBBS or other recognised equivalent medical qualification registerable with GMC
**Professional Qualifications/Development**:
**Essential criteria**:
- MRCS (UK) or equivalent. In neurosurgical specialist training or have completed such training
**Desirable criteria**:
- GCP certification Higher academic degree e.g. MD or PhD
**Clinical Skills/Experience**:
**Essential criteria**:
- Evidence of commitment to Neuro-oncology
**Desirable criteria**:
- Experience of intra-operative imaging
**Teaching, Audit & Research**:
**Essential criteria**:
- Participation in, and commitment to Clinical audit. Experience of and commitment to teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students.
**Desirable criteria**:
- Publications and knowledge of recent developments in areas of specialist interest
**Peronal Skills/Qualities**:
**Essential criteria**:
- Hepatitis B immune. Clear, fluent and articulate in verbal and written presentation.
**Desirable criteria**:
- Communication skills qualification

**Salary**: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
