Global Insurance Company seeks an IT Business Continuity Analyst / Disaster Recovery Engineer to support a lead analyst within the IT Service Management team. Together you will develop DR & BCP strategies and conduct the appropriate tests to ensure that thedepartment can recover IT Systems to agreed SLA's and therefore mitigate the risk of crisis/disaster events.
Utilising your knowledge of Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity Planning (BCP) methodologies and practices you will contribute to the design of continuity mechanisms in conjunction with other IT teams such as Architecture, Application and InfrastructureServices. Additionally, you will run periodic tests and exercises to ensure these plans are effective and fit for purpose should the need arise for them to be placed into action. Some of these may take the form of run-throughs with the Service Desk, Infrastructureand Service Delivery teams which you will subsequently analyse and adjust to ensure their effectiveness.
Within the planning aspect of the role you will be responsible for tracking and analysing risks and issues, tracking of the DR budget spend, support the lead in developing project plans and ultimately design, maintain and communicate DR and BCP plans withinthe various IT departments to which you will be assigned. You will continually be looking for areas of improvement in processes, procedures and capability, reacting to internal and external regulatory demand and implement these incremental changes to the ITDR & Continuity plans.
We are searching for IT Business Continuity Analyst / Disaster Recovery Engineer / IT Service Delivery Manager who has gained experience within Incident Management at some point in their career (working within an ITIL / ITSM driven environment) and who hassubsequently played a significant role in the development of IT Business Continuity Plans and Disaster Recovery Planning. You will have a strong awareness of relevant DR & BCP methodologies, strategy and testing and be capable of developing these solutions,implementing them and communicating to a wide internal audience. You will be comfortable working with a range of IT teams in Service Delivery, Network, Infrastructure and Application environments. You may be certified in ITIL but this non-essential. Strongorganisational, DR testing and documentation skills essential.
