Transport Administrator

Shannon Rail was established over 20 years ago, initially to provide the UK rail industry with self-contained mobile site access units and road haulage facilities. Since then, the company has expanded to provide a range of ancillary support solutions to the sector. We have worked with leading suppliers of welfare pods and toilet blocks to produce towable eco-friendly designs to our own bespoke specifications as well as building our own units in our workshop. We don’t think of ourselves as a labour supply company, a transport company or a training/medical provider, we see ourselves as a Railway Business.
We are currently looking to recruit a Transport Administrator. Reporting to the Senior Transport Manager, you will be responsible for providing a fully comprehensive administration support in the day-to-day operations of the Transport Department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Being the first point of contact to answer incoming calls and assisting with supplier/driver queries in a polite professional manner
- Deal with parking fines and driving contraventions and challenge when necessary
- Covering team absence, or other transport activity, when appropriate
- Parking fine and speeding contraventions administration and challenge when necessary
- Updating and maintaining fleet management software and filing ensuring both vehicle and driver compliance
- Supporting the transport operation in strict adherence to company process and current legislation in relation to Operator Licensing
- Assisting with the management of fuel card administration
- Other general administration tasks as required by manager
- Monitor and chase documentation in support of the transport operation
- Being proactive in your work approach to ensure that all tasks are completed
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Previous Transport experience is desired but not essential
- Effective communication
- Self-Motivated and good Time Management
- Excellent organisational skills and Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Must be computer literate confidently proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook and
Excel Applications including V-lookups, formulas, and Pivot Table usage
- A positive can-do attitude
