**JOB DESCRIPTION - Personal Care Assistant for a gentleman FT/PT available
- POST: Personal Care Assistant
LOCATION: Ponteland
JOB PURPOSE: To provide care and support with all aspects of daily living to a gentleman who requires 24/7 support.
Hello, I am a gentleman with a diagnosis of Transverse Myelitis and I have a tracheotomy. I live in Ponteland with my wife. I have 1:1 and 2:1 support with a 24/7 care package. I am looking for 2 enthusiastic and committed Personal Care Assistants to join my care team to cover 2 x 13 hour day shifts each per week on a rota. There will also be opportunity to cover extra days with holidays and sickness.

- Main Duties:

- To support with moving & handling and transfers with a full-bodied hoist.
- Personal Care to include, support with showering, bathing and dressing, oral care and toileting including catheter care
- Support with meals as I have a mashed diet
- Administer medication via a PEG and manage the PEG
- Tracheotomy care and oral suction
- To support to access the local community and assistance via a specialist wheelchair.
- Support to maintain a habitable home.

**Rates of pay**:
**£15.04 per hour once fully trained - 5.6 weeks holiday (pro rata)**
