**About the team**

The Families Together Service is a city-wide service are looking for a Higher-Level Family Support Worker to join our South Asti Team and East Safeguarding team. The teams are motivated and require a support worker who can drive evidence-based practice and create a positive environment which encourages open discussion and innovation, supports performance and builds capability.

**About you**
- Do you hold an NVQ level four or equivalent qualification?
- You will work within our relationship-based, strengths-orientated, family-led practice model.
- Do you have experience of working in a multi-agency forum?
- You will jointly work with families in statutory services to provide a timely response to the needs of children, young people and their families, acting in accordance with local policies, procedures and priorities.
- You will be a team player working with colleagues in a range of disciplines, sharing knowledge and providing support and advice to deliver the best possible outcomes for local children and their families.

**About the role**:

- The role will require you working under pressure and dealing with conflicting demands whilst adhering to strict deadlines.
- You will require good report writing and record keeping, accounting for decisions taken and interventions provided.
- The role will require good communication skills, as you will work closely with colleagues within Birmingham Children’s Trust who will take on a crucial role with families
- You will support social care colleagues in delivering targeted interventions and evidencing practice on a child’s record.
- As a Higher Level Family Support Worker, you will deliver evidenced based interventions to positively affect changes that safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people.
- You will be required to establish a high standard of practice in the Families Together space that provides a timely response to children, young people and their families and achieves family outcomes from the Think Family Criteria. You need to be able to work collaboratively with, children, young people and families and other professionals to achieve this aim.
- The role will require you to act as a champion in a specific practice area such as domestic abuse, parental conflict, mental health or substance misuse on behalf of the team/service supporting delivery of workshops and providing advice and support where relevant.
- You will be accountable for maintaining and improving practice and performance in line with professional development targets as agreed with the line manager through supervision.
