**The Role**:
If you are a sales/business development professional with a successful track record this is your opportunity to make your mark in this exciting role. Reporting to the Group International Business Director you will contribute to the development of our strategicexport goals, grow existing customer/distributor sales, identify, negotiate and close new export sales opportunities, develop long-term customer and distributor relationships and maintain extensive knowledge of global market conditions.

To be successful in this role you will need to achieve and exceed export sales growth targets, be personable and professional in the management of your customer and distributor relationships, be prepared to work outside normal office hours and undertakeall international travel requirements. It is a given that you will be highly sensitive to the commercial and cultural differences across our international markets.

This is a full-time, permanent, office-based position and you must live within a reasonable commuting distance from Shrewsbury.

As this role includes UK and international travel you must have and maintain a valid driving licence and passport.

**Main duties and Tasks**:

- Identify, develop and manage new customers and distributors to meet export sales targets.
- Identify new business and business partnerships through market research, prospect cold calling, networking opportunities and by maximising existing export relationships.
- Develop, agree, cost and implement a territory plan for each designated market to ensure the most efficient use of time and resource to maximise export sales.
- Develop an understanding of our core product range as required to successfully sell our products overseas.
- Keep management informed of the changing global market trends, competitor activity and practices.

**Preferred Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications / Experience**:

- A proven track record and 5 years’ experience in a similar sales/advanced account management or business development role. Your experience could include working within automotive, agriculture, commercial or engineering organisations. Ideally this wouldinclude export sales experience and knowledge of lubricants markets but this is not essential.
- Demonstrable experience of intelligence gathering and using data to underpin strategic business development activities to achieve sales growth.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. You will be able to able to develop, build and maintain long-term customer relationship and be sensitive to the commercial and cultural differences across our international markets.
- Educated to degree standard. An engineering or chemistry qualification would be desirable.
