**Colleague Wellbeing Lead**
**Location**: The role will be Hybrid, but will be required visits to all Fletchers locations across the North of England regularly
**The role**:
At Fletchers, the health and wellbeing of our colleagues is extremely important to us. We already have lots of initiatives to keep our colleagues well, such as a dedicated team of mental health champions, a colleague wellbeing hub with resources and lots of awareness campaigns through the year. Colleagues needing further support can access different options through Medicash including talking therapies and complimentary therapies. As we move into the next exciting growth phase of Fletchers, we want to recruit someone to lead the colleague health and wellbeing agenda. The Colleague Wellbeing Lead will assist individuals facing work-related, personal, or domestic challenges, offering guidance and signposting them to the appropriate resources.
Though based within the People team, this role is distinct from HR management, concentrating solely on promoting and enhancing the physical, mental, and financial wellbeing of all colleagues. Through a combination of tailored support, wellbeing programmes, and a compassionate approach, fostering a healthy and positive workplace environment where everyone feels supported and empowered.

**Main Responsibilities**:
- Identify and support colleagues who are experiencing individual challenges, such as poor mental health, or are on long term sick leave, signposting them to additional support as needed and working with colleagues in the HR team where issues are work-related or have an impact on work
- Support managers with recognising and referring colleagues who are experiencing issues
- Create and curate a network of useful external resources and contacts for colleagues
- Design and deliver ongoing training to our leaders to ensure they are confident in understanding our duty of care to employees, recognising issues and how to navigate them
- Signpost colleagues to other areas of specialist advice information and support as and when required
- Offer practical support and signposting to individuals returning from maternity leave
- Offer practical support and signposting to individuals following bereavement
- Provide individual advice and support on retirement and preparation for transition
- Support individual colleagues and the HR team with occupational health referrals where they are appropriate
- Be central to our people response in the event of any incidents which may have an impact on the wellbeing of our colleagues
- Support the Responsible Business team with regular internal campaigns and events to promote good health and wellbeing
Note that this role will not act as an advocate in any areas of HR management practice, such as grievance, discipline or harassment, nor will they provide ongoing regular counselling to individuals: the focus is on triage, support and signposting for individuals as well as group health and wellbeing promotion.
**Essential Skills and Experience**:
- We will consider any experience and skills that support the achievement of the responsibilities above, with the key priority being the delivery of practical pastoral support to individuals. The list below is not exhaustive, but relevant examples include backgrounds and experience in:
- Personal wellbeing promotion and support
- Mental health
- Financial wellbeing
- Community support
- Nursing
- HR
- Health and social care
- Counselling, coaching and mentoring
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to build rapport and be empathic to people in difficulty
- Excellent individual communication skills, both face-to-face and remotely
- Strong group communication skills and experience of public speaking
- Ability to produce clear written communication
- Able to identify situations quickly that require additional support and guidance
- A clear appreciation of the need for and limits of confidentiality
- A proactive approach to problem-solving
- Creative approach to promoting wellbeing services
- Experience of working in a professional services workplace is particularly desirable
