**Role**:Senior Property Accounting Manager **Function**:Finance **Location**:Dunstable, Bedfordshire. **Employment Type**:Permanent A newly created, busy and challenging role managing the financial reporting, accounting and control for the Property Accounting & Control team. The role will also have the diversity of working with the wider Accounting & Control team to develop a best inclass financial and reporting capability. **Inside the role**: - Both accurate and efficient accounting and reporting of Fixed Assets and Leases (IFRS 16). - Accountable for impairment review process and accounting for assets >£6bn. - Supporting our organic and acquisition driven growth in Germany to ensure timely and accurate integration of acquired property. - Financial reporting - ensuring the integrity and full statutory compliance of financial statements externally and providing high quality first line reporting internally - Financial control - ensuring that the controls are designed and operated effectively through the control framework (FCF) and that processes are documented and risk and control matrices are developed. - The accounting services include all associated balance sheet reconciliations and in line with group accounting policies. In addition to initiate, lead and assist on relevant project/analytical work throughout the year as required. Ensuring risks and opportunitiesare identified and flagged as appropriate. - Relationship management with external auditors (Deloitte) and to ensure full compliance with best practice and to delivery a clean audit for fixed assets. - To manage and develop the team, identify talent and create an environment of continuous improvement - Deputise for the Head of Financial Accounting & Control as necessary and fully participate in the wider Financial Control agenda **We're open to you**: - Qualified Accountant - recognised accounting qualification with at least 3 years PQE - Broad accounting knowledge, ability to talk through ideas & assess wider impacts - Rounded technical skills - expertise across a range of accounting and financial areas - Influencing skills - the interpersonal skills to build relationships and leverage these to shape operational decision making - Challenging others - confident in challenging others, whilst maintaining a strong, professional relationship - Organised & disciplined - Analytical skills - ability to identify core issues and provide assessments grounded in logic - Ability to communicate with and influence financial and non-financial colleagues - People management - experience of managing others and a clear sense of how to manage teams - Driving process improvements - Broad Finance experience, including period close, financial planning and reporting - Working with financial and non-financial colleagues at all levels - Experience with IFRS 16 accounting & processing - Dealing with auditors and managing a year end process Times are changing, but our ambition is bigger than ever.
