**Job Overview**:
**Responsibilities**:

- Prepare, cook, and manage daily menus for the nursery.
- Ensure the kitchen, including floors, surfaces, cupboards, fridges, freezers, oven, utility room, and downstairs toilet, is kept clean and hygienic.
- Hold and maintain a minimum Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate or similar.
- Complete all food online ordering by Friday afternoon and manage food and cleaning equipment orders within the nursery budget.
- Create and update a 4-week rolling menu according to season and availability, providing a balanced and varied diet.
- Maintain records of food served, cleaning performed, and temperature logs for fridges, freezers, and food.
- Prepare and serve all snacks and lunches, ensuring all dietary requirements of the children are met.
- Liaise with room leaders to understand and cater to children’s dietary needs.
- Ensure all food is prepared from fresh ingredients and ready for days off, including after-school club if applicable.
- Keep all records up to date, including daily menu sheets, food hygiene records, and temperature logs.
- Monitor and control food and household goods inventory.
- Regularly communicate with management regarding any food-related issues.
- Ensure the nursery meets all safety and hygiene requirements, reporting any issues to senior staff.
- Stay current with required training.
- Comply with all Lifeline and Little Learners policies and procedures, including safeguarding, child protection, confidentiality, and equal opportunities.

**Requirements**:
**Essential Qualifications**:

- Minimum Level 2 in Food Hygiene in the Workplace or similar (this can be completed as an online course).
- GCSEs in Maths and English at Grade C or above, or Functional Skills Level 2 in English, Maths, and ICT.

**Desirable Qualifications**:

- First Aid Certificate.
- Experience in catering (preferred but not essential).

**Essential Experience and Skills**:

- Ability to cook a varied and nutritious menu.
- Ability to write a 4-week rolling menu based on good home-cooked food.
- Initiative and ability to cook to a budget.
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
- Excellent hygiene practices.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to work with people from a wide range of backgrounds and organisations.
- Ability to build relationships and have a love for children.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £25,300.00-£28,300.00 per year
