Teaching Assistant/Behaviour Mentor required to support on a 1-2-1 basis in a dynamic SEMH school. Are you a Teaching Assistant or Behaviour Mentor with effective classroom management and excellent communication skills? Are you passionate about breakingdown barriers to education? This SEMH school is looking to add a Teaching Assistant / Behaviour Mentor to their outstanding team of staff to engage in 1:1 work with KS4 students that no longer attend mainstream education. The school has a progressive approachto education and wants to ensure their students learn in an engaging and supportive environment.
As a Teaching Assistant or Behaviour Mentor you will be providing classroom support and helping students to engage with lessons. The ability to manage behaviours and effectively build good relationships with pupils is essential for this role. Many of the studentshave additional needs such as ADHD, ASC, PTSD, PDA, ODD and Attachment Disorder, so a good understanding of these diagnoses is important. The school have a brilliant leadership team and committed teaching and learning staff, who are enthusiastic about motivatingchildren in education. Experience as a Behaviour Mentor or Teaching Assistant is vital for this role, and ideally you will have experience working with SEMH needs. A Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification is preferred but not essential.
Job Role:

- Providing support on a 1:1 basis within small classes of KS3 & KS4 students with SEN and SEMH needs
- Being able to execute effective behaviour management techniques
- Working as a Behaviour Mentor / Teaching Assistant
- Engaging in wider-school activities including trips to make education a more creative, dynamic environment
