An opportunity has arisen at St Mary's Primary School for an enthusiastic, talented, resilient and committed person to encourage, motivate and support a young child in school. School work is rewarding and satisfying with no two days the same. You will ultimately be part of a team ensuring a safe and happy learning environment for all children.

This temporary post is formally attached to a child and therefore, when the funding is withdrawn or the child leaves the school the post will no longer be available. The curriculum work will be prepared by the teacher and as with all Teaching Assistant posts you may be used in other areas of the school as and when required.

As a Teaching Assistant you will need to be calm but firm and enjoy working with children, having a minimum qualification at GCSE Maths and English. Experience of working in a classroom situation or a qualification as a Teaching Assistant, NVQ2 or NVQ3 would be ideal. We are looking for someone who can continue to liaise and build relationships with parents and families and, therefore, good and courteous communication skills are a necessity.
