Group Financial Accountant

**Salary**: £53,000 to £65,000 plus car allowance
Contract: FTC - 12 months

Whatever your experience, this is a fantastic opportunity to join our vibrant, growing business as a Group Financial Accountant on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, this role supports and develops the Group’s financial reporting and governance procedures. Key areas of focus will be PLC filing requirements, technical accounting compliance, risk management and tax related activities.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Primary leading on the completion of the Group’s PLC filing requirements e.g. half year and year-end financial statements, including compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
Providing advice on technical accounting areas and the development of the Group’s accounting policies.
Pro-active interpretation and analysis of the impact on the Group’s financial reporting of developments and changes in GAAP.
Assisting with group taxation affairs including management of tax forecasts, year-end tax accounting, corporation tax compliance and ownership of the group tax risk register which feeds into the annual SAO process.
Managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including the Group’s auditors, tax advisors and other professional advisors.
Assisting in ensuring best practice governance within a PLC environment, including documenting group finance risks as part of group risk management.
Assisting in the Group’s month end process, including review of reporting unit submissions and commentary for monthly finance report.
Ad hoc finance and operational related projects, including financial reporting software implementations, M&A and equity/debt raising activities as appropriate.

About you
Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
High level of technical accounting experience (IFRS and UK GAAP)
IT literate (in particular Excel), including experience of financial reporting systems, business planning and budgeting processes
Strong organisational and project management skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines on multiple projects
