The MDT consists of nurses, respiratory physiotherapists and doctors who diagnose and optimise management of patients with complex airways disease, quite often with a combination of COPD, asthma and bronchiectasis. The post holder will deliver an average of 1.5 clinics per week, a mixture of new and follow up patients. CRT clinics will consist of face-to-face reviews as well as remote MDTs with community practitioners (GPs, ACPs, community matrons, etc). It is an exciting opportunity to strengthen links between community practitioners and secondary care for patients with these conditions - to support and upskill our community colleagues and provide timely interventions in both acute and chronic respiratory disease management In addition, and as a member of our team, the postholder will contribute to the acute respiratory on call-rota (currently 1 in 20; no general medicine commitment), with a 1 in 14 commitment to consultant of the week for one of our respiratory wards.
