**Your role and responsibilities**
An exciting vacancy has become available for the OOH Team Leader role (job share).
The OOH Team Lead will ultimately be responsible for the efficient and effective leadership of the OOH nursing team and the OOH nursing assistant (PCA) team.
As OOH Team Lead you will:
- Be responsible for always maintaining high clinical and cleanliness standards.
- Allocate patients to the nursing team.
- Be aware of all inpatients including HDU, Bothy and Isolation, and ensure written handovers are completed for all inpatients.
- Communicate with the intern and on call clinician regarding OOH emergencies.
- Re distribute inpatients and allocate nurses to help with emergencies if necessary, i.e. going into theatre.
- Communicate with the intern regarding inpatient concerns.
- Maintain close communication with the on -call Head Nurse, reporting any concerns or issues.
**Nurse Management**
- Provide effective management to the OOH team.
- Complete yearly appraisals for night staff and quarterly catch-up meetings, dealing with any issues as they arise.
- Ensure the completion of the rota in a timely manner, ensuring the required staffing levels are maintained including arranging cover for annual leave and sick absence.
- Ensure the team take breaks and allocate appropriate times.
- Provide support, induction and training for new members of the team
- Maintain close communication with the Head Nurses to ensure a consistent and effective transition between the day and night teams.
- Encourage a high level of morale amongst staff, setting a good example and encouraging staff to be always positive.
- 3+ years of experience within a busy multi-disciplinary referral practice
- Nurse management or leadership experience.
