We are actively recruiting for an exicting Interim Freight Controller opportunity based on a hybrid basis from Birmingham

**Client Details**

Our client is a world leading automotive 4PL provider who ship products world-wide The business is heavily based around the supply of air, road and sea shipping methods across both import and export. Our client is based in Birmingham but the role this roleis able to be based from home 2 or 3 days per week.

**Description**

As an Interim Freight Controller you will work a regular day shift pattern, these will be structured across Monday through to Friday. The contract will initial be 12 months, hopefully moving onto a permanent role with the business. You and your colleagueswill be the first point of contact for any shipment details such as pricing, customs, and live updates.
- Carrier manage a host of bookings and dealing with general enquiries in a professional and timely manner, in line with our company SLA's for a major world-wide account. This includes providing excellent service to a high profile customer account.
- End to end booking, pricing and quotations of manufactured shipments, primarily by means of airfreight, sea freight & road freight, across the global.
- Manage a vast network of over 600 suppliers / carriers, whilst additionally looking to continual improve relationships and costings.
- Source, plan and monitor import & export consignments, assessing any risk to targeted deadlines, and providing alternative transport solutions as a contingency option
- Liaise with transport & shipping suppliers in order to negotiate best possible rates
- Obtaining, checking and preparing import & export documentation to meet customs and packing specifications, and compliance with other countries regulations and fiscal regimes
- Maintain and develop strong relationships with current freight & shipping suppliers.

**Profile**

The successful Interim Freight Controller will have the following attributes and skills:

- Commutable to Birmingham - 2 days per week with the rest of the role on a hybrid basis
- Available for a 12 month FTC
- 2+ years experience in freight - either in-house or via a freight forwarder
- Analytic skills - via excel

**Job Offer**
- £29,000-£37,000
- 33 days annual leave
- 15% completion bonus
