You will be responsible for your own people-related projects and particular policies that could be improved, researching, and developing them to ensure Santander UK are aligned to market practice, our business and HR Strategy and complies with employment legislation / regulatory requirements.

**The difference you’ll make.**
- Collaborating across a wide range of stakeholders to obtain feedback and data from HR Operations and other HR and business areas on the operation of HR Policies to inform policy reviews
- Owning and delivering HR projects relating to people, policies and changes to HR systems and processes
- Representing the HR Policy team to ensure we support the understanding and implementation of HR policies
- Reviewing, developing, and maintaining HR Policies and supporting documentation
- Making recommendations on changes to HR Policies to meet best practice, align to industry practice and support our business strategy, and manage associated risks
- Providing advice and guidance on HR policies to HR Operations and other areas of HR and resolve all policy escalations in a timely manner.

**What you’ll bring.**
- Analytical mindset and strong attention to detail.
- Good knowledge of HR practices, employment legislation and case law and how this relates to HR policies and practical situations.

**It would also be nice for you to have.**
- Ability to build and manage relationships with other areas of HR and business stakeholders, combined with the ability and credibility to influence.
- Ability to analyse data to support the development of HR policies and measure their effectiveness
- Strong teamwork skills, gained through working in flexible, self-managing teams

**What else you need to know.**

This is a 12-month fixed term contract position to cover maternity leave.

The location for this role is flexible, however you must be within a commutable distance of our Milton Keynes Office.

As well as a salary, we offer a wide range of benefits that you can choose from and tailor to your needs. For contract roles, your salary, bonus (where eligible) and certain benefits will be prorated to reflect your contract duration.
- Pension with generous contributions of up to 12.5% from Santander, depending on your own contribution and length of employment with us
- 30 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, which increases to 31 days after 5yrs service, with the option to purchase up to 5 contractual days per year
- £6,000 car allowance per year
