Test Lead for Projects and Automation, Swindon

Due to business growth, we’re looking for a Test Lead for Projects and Automation to join our team in Swindon, Newport or Billingham on a permanentbasis. The salary for this role is £37,235 per annum, and we will consider applicants wanting full-time or part-time hours. We are embracing a hybrid way of working, with an expectation to travel into your closest office when required, this can be discussedat interview.

**What will you be doing?**

You will form part of the Digital and Information (D&I) Service Transition Team. You will report to the Service Transition Manager and be responsible for the successful delivery of test assurance services by the Project Test Team for releases of key systemsand delivering Test Automation to the BAU Test Team.

UK SBS are transforming into a more agile organisation and the Test Lead for Projects and Automation is expected to play a key part as we modernise our ways of working.

**_Key responsibilities will include:_**
- Responsible for the line management of the Major Projects and Automation Test Team, resource planning and recruitment
- Motivate and encourage the team to ensure they are providing a quality test service and meeting agreed deadlines
- Manage team and individual performance, identifying development and training needs to ensure the team meet the required testing industry standard
- Facilitate team collaboration with the BAU Test Team, Development and Deployment Teams
- Ensure test scope, approach and effort is agreed at the onset of each test phase and regularly reviewed
- Create Test Strategies, Test Approach and Test Plans for projects and manage and maintain the Test Automation framework
- Understand and lead Testers in Agile and DevOps ways of working where appropriate
- Advise and facilitate Product Owners, Scrum Masters and Agile development teams in test practices
- Responsible for the provision of the test sign-off for all major projects and representing the Testing Service at Change Advisory Board when required

**Who are we looking for?**
- Experience of leading a team and developing, implementing and improving test practices
- Experience in testing (which could include User Acceptance Testing), preferably within a large ERP implementation
- Practical experience with Waterfall, Agile and DevOps approaches
- Ability to develop and manage a Test Automation framework
- A good listener and communicator with effective leadership and motivation skills
- Ability to build trust and influence key stakeholders
- Strong self-sufficiency and initiative
