We have a fantastic opportunity for a Test Lead to join the join the team on a permanent basis.

What it's like to work here:The Trust is continuing to invest in technology to deliver ambitious strategic goals. Our IT department delivers operational support and several sizable business driven programmes at any one time, as well as supporting a large operational national user base of 12,000 staff, 60,000 volunteers and almost 6 million members.

Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon, however there will be an opportunity to explore and agree hybrid working arrangements which strike the right balance for you and the Trust.

You’ll adopt the ‘shift testing left’ principle and lead Test projects and teams during initiation through effective Test Engagement to create a modern and clear Test Plan (National Trust Standard). You’ll ensure that they are set up for success by helping them adopt the most appropriate test practices, processes, techniques and tooling. You’ll collaborate with the Project Management Office (PMO) to ensure the testing pipeline is accurately sized and resourced accordingly

You’ll also take an active role in the wider Test community, practicing and promoting the test principles.

For this position we’re looking for someone who has:

- Detailed knowledge of traditional and modern Agile testing methodologies with ability to introduce/facilitate new ways of working
- Understanding of how modern automation techniques and frameworks can be applied to deliver Quality Assurance
- Detailed knowledge of all aspects of Functional, Non-Functional Testing and E2E Testing
- Strategic thinking, able to balance the needs of the Team whilst keeping sight of the Trust’s overall Quality Assurance goals
- Ability to empower and support others to deliver quality test automation solutions, and implement quality performance testing solutions across different technologies, using a selection of tools
- Experience of supporting and leading others to develop and execute both manual and automated test artefacts along with managing defects
- Excellent communication and influential skills, able to co-ordinate testing activities with a range of colleagues both within and outside of IT
- Able to define and monitor what success looks like throughout the software delivery process
- Ability to communicate complex issues to a wide range of business users
