**Support Worker**
A Support worker is required for a delightful young girl who has Cerebral Palsy living in Shropshire.
The client is aged 16 years, and currently lives with her family in her own accommodation; all care is provided in the home environment and community.The client has all her food, fluids, and medication via a PEG, she communicates using Makaton and requiresassistance to safely mobilise.
The family seek to add to the care team to help to support them in providing a high standard of care, therapy, and social opportunities for their daughter.She attends a special school and enjoys accessing her community and taking part in family activities.
The Support Worker will work as part of a team providing support, care and therapy for the client ensuring safety and physical wellbeing.The young girl has regular therapy, and the focus of her parents is for their daughter to reach her full potential.Ateam of support workers are required to support the parents to facilitate their child’s development, working towards common goals.
**Working hours**:
- Additional hours are available most weeks to cover leave.
**Typical shifts are**:
- Weekends, Mondays and School holidays: 8.15am - 8.15pm and 8.15pm - 8.15am waking nights.
- Tuesday - Friday (term time): 3.45pm - 10.15pm and 10.15pm - 10.15am waking nights.
The client seeks someone who is well organised and flexible
**Rates of pay**:
- £14.50 per hour Monday to Friday, £16.50 per hour Saturday and Sunday, £20.50 per hour bank holidays.
- All hourly rates will rise by £0.50 per hour upon completion of probation period
- a patient, warm and caring nature
- A full driving licence is essential
- An NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent is desirable. Otherwise, the applicant must be willing to undertake Care Certificate training
- Past experience with Makaton and/or PEG feeding are desirable qualities for this position
