The White Lion is a grade II listed building and is prominently situated upon Main Road within the semi-rural village of Weston, Cheshire. The property was built in 1652 as a farm house and still retains its original charm and distinctive appearance. The site has a Function/meeting room which is a wonderful feature, full of character adorned with part wooden panelled walls and bay windows. It is ideal for Weddings and other special occasions with its ornate features. The White Lion boasts 17 en-suite rooms that have been tastefully appointed. The accommodation is a key part of the business development strategy to put it to the forefront of rated accommodation in the area.

We are now looking for a hardworking individual to join our night porter team. This job will be based on a 4 night per week Tuesday - Friday 10:30pm
- 09:00am

You will be responsible for ensuring the hotel and guest safety during the night, and handover any issues to the morning management team.

**Responsibilities**
- To carry out the minimum of 2 security checks at regular intervals with special emphasis on security, fire and safety.
- To check hotel guests in and out and assist with luggage when required.
- To be readily available at all times to deal with queries, problems or complaints during the night, ensuring that telephone calls are handled promptly and courteously.
- Preparation of food & beverage items on the room service menu.
- Responsible for the safety and security of all guests.
- Setting up the conference and banqueting rooms.
- Maintenance of all control systems.
- Ensure you have a sound knowledge of the local area regarding history, places of interest and special events and where further information can be obtained.
- Carrying out night cleaning duties and removal of all trays from public areas, bedroom corridors as necessary.
- Taking of monies for the payment of services.
- To establish a friendly and helpful attitude to all guests and staff.
- To complete all tasks on each shift to the full and make sure that handover takes place at the end of the shift.
- To attend all relevant training as and when required.
- To show willingness to take on additional responsibilities when necessary.
- To display and fulfill the ‘Can-Do’ service style and philosophy of The White Lion Inn.

To have a thorough knowledge of and adherence to the law with regard to the following company regulations:

- Fire regulations and night evacuation procedures
- Health and safety regulations
- First aid procedures
- To ensure you adhere to the company’s dress code at all times.

**Desirable qualities**:

- excellent customer service skills, be IT literate, organized and be physically fit.
