**Redbridge Council provides a wide range of services to the local community, including children, young people and their families. The Housing Specialist Worker role will be an integral part of the Leaving Care Service.**

**The role**

The Council is currently looking for a Housing Specialist Worker who will be working with Children services and partner agencies to provide care experienced young people a comprehensive and proactive service.

The Housing Specialist Worker will work with various officers across the council and partner agencies and will manage placement and sign-up process of accommodation/tenancy for care experienced young people.

The post holder will demonstrate a strong ability to be innovative, dynamic and solutions focused, ensuring that all housing options are considered to prevent individuals from becoming homeless.

**What we’re looking for**
- has good knowledge of all homelessness legislation as covered by the 1996 Housing Act
- has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- high level organisational skills, working as part of a team as well as independently, with high levels of attention to detail
- able to work at a strategic level, planning and prioritising resources to achieve deliverables
